WE BELIEVE CHILDREN BELONG IN FAMILIES
Hope for the Fatherless is partnering with believers in Ethiopia and around the world to develop a culture that values and cares for vulnerable children and places them into loving families.
More than 5.6 million children in Ethiopia are missing one or both of their parents. In 2018, inter-country adoption was banned, but there is not yet a strong culture of domestic foster care or adoption.
These vulnerable children often end up trapped in institutional care..
Those aging out of orphanages are at extremely high risk for unplanned pregnancies. Often the resulting child will end up abandoned in an orphanage, continuing the cycle.
Orphaned and vulnerable children should be placed into FAMILIES through:
Small Group Homes
Through partnership with Bethany Global, HFTF places children from our transition home, Faith House, into forever families through domestic adoption. Adoption is open to married Ethiopian citizens over the ages 25-65 who reside in Ethiopia. Click the link below to send an email inquiry.
HFTF is a founding member of the DEBO (Defend Every Beloved Orphan) Alliance in Ethiopia. The alliance is comprised of ministries passionate about setting a new standard of excellence in orphan care. DEBO annually hosts an Orphan Summit in Addis Ababa that draws individuals from across the country for education and empowerment.
